Being pretty well graduated from high school, I can safely say it was an asshole move for so many of my friends to tell me they didn’t want to be friends anymore because they were moving on from high school to college. A bit of distance is fine, and I understand wanting to move on, but one of my closest friends told me he probably wouldn’t text me back anymore after graduating, and that if I drove to see him, he would probably make no effort to see me.
Since I’ve graduated, I’ve been a bit out of contact with a lot of my friends from high school, but not on purpose, and I’ve tried to avoid falling out of touch as much as possible. I’ve gone to U of M three times and MSU twice to visit friends and had a lovely time. I’ve hung out with friends who are seniors in high school. I’ve even hung out with my friends who are juniors in high school quite a bit, and certainly am not above at least talking to them if they make an effort.
So, Jad, you sure are a doucheface. But I sure do miss you.
