Overheard my mom talking on the phone.
Mom: “Her birthday’s coming up, we were thinking of throwing her a surprise party…”
Me: TALKING ABOUT MEEEEE? My birthday is in a month! 
Mom: “Well, her boyfriend said that might not be such a good idea…
Me: Aw, so sweet that my boyfriend and mom talked about throwing me a birthday party. That was so nice of them.
Mom: “Yeah, I guess she’s been really stressed about work… I don’t know what’s going on with her, but she’s very stressed lately.
Me: She is so right. I haven’t been able to find a job and won’t get one until April, and my classes are stressful… I didn’t realize she was paying attention!
Mom: Yeah, she works for [my dad’s company].
Me: 
Well of COURSE I didn’t think you were talking about me what nope nevermind
